Solo Album Update
The countdown continues to the release of new music from First Nation’s Rap recording artist Rex Smallboy. (War Party) Without even hitting the shelves music from the new CD is already scheduled to be featured in the new APTN series Blackstone and has headlined the Reztore Pride compilation CD released by the Southern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative. (SOADI) With songs that touch on issues such as the apology to Canada’s First Nations from the Federal Government to the escalating problems with drugs and violence on reserves this album is sure to make a powerful addition to the next chapter of native hip-hop. With the final mixes currently being approved by Rex Smallboy the Book My Act Management Team is one step closer to announcing the official release date for this highly anticipated rap music project.
Reztore Pride, Restore Health
The music makes the movement for the masses. The Reztore Pride compilation CD (www.reztorepride.com) is the vision of the good people at the Southern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative. (www.soadi.ca) Rex joined forces with SOADI in the production of a compilation CD to educate listeners about the diabetes epidemic currently affecting First Nations. The CD title track “Why can’t we see” was written by Rex Smallboy and will also appear on his upcoming solo album. The Reztore Pride CD is an innovative approach combining hip‐hop, education, prevention and awareness.
Adventures of Power
This Land Was Ours was featured on the soundtrack of the Adventures of Power major motion picture film (Official Selection - Sundance Film Festival; WINNER) the award-winning comedy about Rock'n'Roll, love, labor battles, the American Dream, and air-drumming directed by Ari Gold. The Adventures of Power movie was released on big screens across the United States and is now available on DVD! (www.adventuresofpower.com )
