THE SOLO
My first ever solo album is in the final stages of the mastering process which is being executively produced by my good friend, agent and manager Eddie Birkett. It is also being co-produced by Craig Fatheringham who polished up the tracks with his extensive experience and talent. Craig is a very well respected and established producer in the Manitoba music scene. I am very proud and excited for the release of this solo album. When I set out to work on this album I decided to focus on making a CD that was about what hip-hop has always meant to me which is empowerment, change and growth. I committed to not creating and works with disses to other rappers or crews instead I did the opposite and wrote lyrics with the intent of lifting up people’s spirits with the music. I also decided to write coming from a more personal aspect based on my own struggles and challenges I was facing. No official release date is currently set.
SOADI
I had the great honor to work with the amazing people at the Southern Ontario Aboriginal diabetes Initiative (SOADI) on a compilation hip-hop educational CD to help in the prevent diabetes in first nations communities. This project took off like wild fire and is already making noise (featured in the Toronto Star) and the CD isn’t even out yet. The amount of interest we had from youth artists willing to stand up and do something positive for their community was amazing. The official web site is www.reztorepride.com check it out for more info on the project. Props to everyone at SOADI.. I am truly honored to be part of such a positive movement.
SHOWS
The latest show I did promoting my upcoming CD was out at North Bay Ontario. I had the opportunity to perform with Dallas Arcand and Curt Young at the youth career fair we also did empowerment workshops to inspire youth with our experience in the entertainment industry. The show and the people out there were awesome had nothing but good times.

NEW MUSIC UPDATE
Rex Smallboy of War Party is in the final stages of completing his first full album as a solo recording artist. After signing to a management deal with CMA Entertainment the 12 track CD is being executively produced by Eddie Birkett and co-produced by Craig Fotheringham both of whom have extensive experience in the Winnipeg First Nations music scene. SOADI and Rex Smallboy join forces to fight Diabetes
SOADI and three time Aboriginal Music Award winner Rex Smallboy have joined forces to spread the word about fighting Diabetes in our communities.
War Party and Rex Smallboy are groundbreaking in hip hop for creating message filled music to make us proud of our heritage. Now Rex is helping SOADI in promoting Diabetes Awareness and healthy lifestyle choices.
In this new initiative from SOADI we are looking for Hip Hop groups in Southern Ontario to work with Rex on a CD project to help us create awareness of Diabetes. We are looking for 4 to 5 rap artists to appear on a CD produced by Rex, with a title song by Rex himself, to be released in the coming months. The CD will be formally released at a concert by War Party at a date TBA.
This is a opportunity for upcoming artists to work with a hip hop legend, appear on a professionally made CD, and learn how a professional hones his craft.
Your song for the CD must be about positive lifestyle choices, healthy living and the fight against Diabetes in our community.
If you are of Aboriginal Ancestory and have a hip hop group or an individual and would like to be part of this project email SOADI at pdc@soadi.ca.
